Stroud District Action on Plastic (SDAP)
Stroud District Action on Plastic (SDAP)
Status: Running
Description
What: Reduce single-use plastic use across the district. Sign up businesses and organisations to the Plastic Free Communities scheme by Surfers Against Sewage. Helping Stroud District Council to implement a motion to go single-use plastic free across the council and to encourage individuals, businesses and community groups to reduce or eliminate single-use plastic. Provide information, raise awareness, run workshops and monthly drop-in sessions.
How: Carbon savings can be made where plastic items are phased out and not replaced by other single-use materials. For example, by asking the Stroud Town Council to install a public water fountain and signing up businesses in the district to a free tap water refill scheme, a significant saving of plastic water bottles can be achieved.
Carbon Saving not yet quantified
Further Information: A drop-in meeting is held the last Saturday of each month. We are a Transition Stroud Action Group.
