Description

What: Community orchard managing part of Norton Wood for the benefit of fruit trees and wildlife. Occasional apple pressing, fruit tree pruning and wassails. Fruit available for any passer by to gather.

How: People visiting the wood can pick fruit for free. The orchard provides feeding, nesting and breeding sites for birds, including amber and red listed species and, since it started in 2009, has increased habitat and numbers of bird species in this area.
